Every two years, law enforcement officers from around the world gather to carry the "Flame of Hope" in a Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg in honor of the Special Olympics World Summer or World Winter Games. GOVERNOR DUMMER ACADEMY, BYFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS
Soccer Tournament

June 15 - 17, 2007. The annual Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games will be held at Boston University and Harvard University. Over 2800 athletes and coaches will participate in eight different sports including aquatics, gymnastics, powerlifting, roller-skating, sailing, tennis, track and field and volleyball. The opening ceremonies kick off the weekend’s events at Boston University. Athletes compete Saturday and Sunday at Harvard University.

During Summer Games every athlete is encouraged to perform to the best of his or her ability. Each athlete has a reasonable chance to excel while competing against fellow athletes of similar age and ability. Athletes train for a minimum of eight weeks prior to Summer Games and are then placed in competition divisions.

Panera Bread has been a long-standing partner with the Summer Games, raising necessary funds to help run the Games and feeding many of the athletes, coaches and family members that attend. Panera Bread has raised over $60,000 in the past two years for Special Olympics Massachusetts.

STOWE ACRES COUNTRY CLUB, STOWE, MASSACHUSETTS
"Driving for a Cure" Golf Tournament

August 13, 2007. All proceeds to benefit The Ellie's Fund Care for the Caregiver Program.

The Ellie Fund was established in 1994 in memory of Eleanor ("Ellie") Popkin of Newton who passed away after a courageous nine-year fight with breast cancer. The Ellie Fund was founded by her sons, Jeff and Eliot, to honor her fight for hope and her giving spirit that touched everyone she knew throughout her life.

The Ellie Fund is a non-profit organization that aids families in the fight against breast cancer through our "Care for the Caregiver" program. Care for the Caregiver support women and families who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer by helping them with their daily activities, transportation to medical appointments, housecleaning, groceries and daycare, thereby enabling them to channel the majority of their energy into battling this disease.
